The Snowsport South AGM will be held at Alpine Snowsports Aldershot (GU11 2DD) on Thursday November 16 at 19:30. If you have any items for the agenda or would like to stand for the committee, please let us know by Thursday 2 November. The agenda will be circulated by 9 November.
We are always keen for new volunteers, whether they stand for one of the core positions or as extra members of the committee helping out with specific roles. This year we are specifically looking for a new secretary and a new technical officer as both Mary and Pete are standing down.
- Secretary: the main role of the secretary is answering email queries as they arise, and sending out notices to members. None of this is difficult, it just requires keeping on top of email during key periods.
- Technical Officer: whilst Pete will continue to maintain the SkiResults website and software used for entries and results (although help on this is also welcome!), we need someone who ensures the region’s timing gear is kept in working order (e.g. fixing cables if they get damaged etc) and can become the goto person for teaching other volunteers how to use it on raceday. The Snowsport South website* also needs someone to give it some TLC from time-to-time, which could either be the technical officer or a separate committee member.
- The regional website (www.snowsportsouth.co.uk) is a very vanilla WordPress “blog” setup – maintaining it does not require knowledge of coding!
