Snowsport South Club National at Southampton

The first club national run by the region in Southampton was a great success, with some excellent competition on the day. We were able to welcome skiers from across the country and had a good number of racers for a late July race.

Snowsport South racers had some great results in all age groups (29 trophies) and many took the opportunity to take part in their first national race. A special thank you to those who helped to organise the race and make sure it ran smoothly especially those who took the plunge and did so for the first time.

In the female race Jenny Davies (Aldershot) took overall first place ahead of Nicole Shering (Snowtrax) and Lauren Vale (Chatham). Each of them won their own age categories too showing that we are producing some very competitive female racers.

Meanwhile in the male race Toby Hughes of Norfolk won his first ever club national overall ahead of Laurence Willows (Bromley) and Jack Danns (SASA). Only half a second split first to third in what was a tightly contested race.

All in all it was a great race to end the first half of the season and take us into the summer break. We look forward to seeing our racers compete in the championships at the end of August and throughout September and of course at the final Snowsport South race at Snowtrax on the 27th September.
