Southern Freestyle Squad meeting mins 4th Feb 2010
Minutes from teleconf 4th Feb 2010 – draft require approval from distribution.
Present:- Dave Saunders , Darren Schmidt & Paul Webb
1) Prep for squad training Sun Feb 7th
May be a smallish session , Darren & Paul doubtful through work commitments, session has not been advertised. Paul is ensuring that Josh Birch will be there as an elite performer & supervised coach.
Dave & Kathryn are committed , John will be there but injured so will not be on the hill.
Aim this Sunday is to assess where the Bromley attendees & other 1st timers from the Hemel session fit in to the squad based on performance seen at Hemel & on Sunday & to see how the others have progressed.
Note Paul proposes squad selection & publication one per quarter based on training sessions , commitment & competition results. But this was not discussed.
2) Squad & SSE membership
Dave to send Darren SFC constitution & officials names & list of members so the Southern Freestyle Club can formally join SSE.
Rules for squad training are that after first few sessions ( 4?) attendees are expected to be a member of SSE as individuals or as member of recognised SSE club.
To be named in the Southern Squad they should be members of Southern Freestyle Club ( £15pa inc SSE insurance) – will consider reduction if the are already members of a SSE.
Squad publication will be on the Southern Region & UK Freestyle websites.
3) Southern Region Freestyle Comps – 8th May Bracknell , 22nd May Chatham & 12th June  Warmwell – discussed effect that Southern Grom camps to be held on 1st Sundays of some months will also hold comps, will this distract – hopefully not – different audience & aim. More discussion on comp advertising , format , judging , prizes, financing held over to next meeting.
